If a stranger asks my son's name, he will not provide it. But he has taken to dancing publicly if the background music feels right.
Interesting where inhibitions spring from, and how they'll likely change over time.

It has been challenging to explain to a 2 year-old what the fuss is about. We've successfully explained that he'll see lots of relatives and eat a lot, but that's about it.
Met a mom today that will work 3 days a week, but not four. She wants always to be there the "majority" of each seven day week. Interesting perspective.

Forgive me if I over-praise this article, but I think this is one of the most important articles written this year. Huge kudos to the Washington Post for giving this its Sunday Magazine cover.
While it's technically just about movies, it really touches on a vitally important issue that gets little ink in America: the thirst to push children ever faster into adulthood, denying them their right to be children.
I can think of few issues more deserving of a national debate than this sick need to rush children out of their innocence.

The next time I get a slow week, I will finally write my expose on children's TV. But for now, in case you missed it....
I got busy, and never got back to comment further on that NY Times magazine piece. Notice how little THE KIDS were mentioned in it? It was a bit spooky.
